At Triton Works, we’ve perfected a cleaning method for residential house washing using special soaps and scrubs to clean walls, driveways, roofs, and other exterior building surfaces. Unlike pressure washing that can damage siding, Soft washing is a safer way to kill bacteria, mold, algae, dirt, and other organic materials.
Soft Washing applies low pressure and specialized solutions to safely remove organic stains. It’s our most popular cleaning service.
The main difference between pressure washing and soft washing is the pressures involved. Pressure washing uses high-pressure water streams to blast away dirt and grime. Soft washing systems use a low-pressure power washer and cleaning solutions to clean surfaces
There is a HUGE difference between pressure washing vs soft washing
Oftentimes, when a homeowner is in search of exterior home cleaning, they search for a “Pressure or Power Washing” company, which is a standard term to use for the home washing industry.
However, what many homeowners typically don’t know is that most of the time what you’re really looking for is a “Soft Wash” or a soft washing company. If you want your home’s roof and siding cleaned – the process is actually soft washing – not pressure washing.
But, we understand how this can be a bit confusing. That is why today, we are going to cover the key difference between pressure washing vs soft washing and when it’s best to use one or the other.

Upon further examination, it’s actually really simple to see the difference between PRESSURE washing and SOFT washing, with an emphasis on the words pressure and soft!
Pressure and power washing, using highly pressurized water, forcefully removes dirt, grime, stains, build-up, and anything it comes in contact with. This is very effective for cleaning hard surfaces, however there are risks involved if you pressure wash the wrong surface.
On the other hand, soft washing is great for siding and roofs because it uses a combination of safe soaps, chemicals, and surfactants to help break down and clean grime/build-up.
Yes. When a car is black, has black interior, or if you are wearing black, it will feel warmer in the sun. This is because black absorbs more heat than any other color. Your black roofing panels/tiles will thus absorb more heat during the hot, summer months, resulting in warmer temperatures inside of your home. You can most definitely save on energy costs if your roof is clean, without black streaks or areas.
We will come and take a look and the severity of the growth on your roof will determine how we will treat it. We apply our solution on the surface of your roof with low pressure, (40-70 psi) allowing our algaecide and surfactants to dwell and eradicate all traces of organic growth. Depending on the type of roof, we will rinse accordingly if needed.
Yes! All of these can immensely damage your roof but especially algae. Algae is the prime reason for roof failure and your roof can lose up to 50% of its longevity. Divots will form when lichen and moss contaminate your roof. They can deteriorate the protective layer of your roof’s shingle granules.
Although our solution is made to kill plant systems, like algae, lichen, and moss, we protect your plants by keeping them wet and moist throughout our cleaning process. We are trained and place high priority on keeping your plants alive and thriving.
This cannot be answered directly. The amount of time a cleaning takes depends on the size of your home and severity of algae growth. After we take a look at your property, we will be able to give you an estimated timeframe
